Asian Games 2026

First held in 1951, the Asian Games is Asia’s biggest multi-sport event, bringing together athletes from 45 countries and regions. It is an event that fosters the bonds between Asia through sports and contributes to world peace by celebrating diversity. Its symbol is a bright sun in red with 16 rays, which represents its ever-glimmering spirit and warmth.

The 2026 Asian Games will be held from September 9 to October 4 in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya City, Japan. They will feature 41 sports and disciplines, including the Olympic and Paralympic sports. The organizers are working hard to make the Games a truly meaningful event that can be enjoyed by people with a wide range of interests and capabilities.

In addition to a diverse lineup of sporting events, the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games will showcase competitions with a unique Asian flair, such as kabaddi and sepak takraw. This mix of regional sports and Olympic disciplines reflects the cultural richness of Asia.

Esports will again feature at the Aichi-Nagoya games, with 11 medal-contending titles to be played. In particular, Chinese teams have demonstrated impressive strength in Honor of Kings and Identity V, while South Korean teams have exhibited competitive resilience in League of Legends.

The Aichi-Nagoya Organizing Committee is collaborating with local governments, sports, economic and tourist organizations, mass media and businesses to bring an unprecedented level of quality and excitement to the Games. They are also implementing measures to facilitate spectator movement around the venues by utilizing public transportation and by curbing private cars in the areas surrounding the sites.
