The US Open schedule features the best players in the world at Flushing Meadows for two weeks each August and September. This year the tournament joins the Australian Open and French Open in expanding its schedule to 15 days – a move that benefits fans with more matches, and the players with a longer rest between rounds. With defending champion Jannik Sinner, 2022 titlist Carlos Alcaraz, and a host of rising stars like Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka, and Taylor Fritz, this could be one of the most competitive Grand Slams in recent history.
Qualifying for the US Open starts on Aug. 18 and runs through Aug. 22. The main draw begins on Aug. 24 with quarterfinals, and the tournament will conclude on Sept. 7 with the men’s and women’s singles finals.
While the US Open offers fare from some of New York City’s most popular restaurants, expect lines to be long during the tournament’s first week. If you’re looking to avoid the crowds, stick with food stands outside Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong Stadium, including ice cream from Van Leeuwen, pizza from San Matteo, and Greek favorites from King Souvlaki.
For those who can’t make it to the grounds, watch the action on the US Open website or on ESPN. The network streams all the matches, and you can also purchase a Grounds Pass that lets you watch any match outside of Arthur Ashe. The nearby Kimpton Hotel The Mansion will also feature a rooftop bar where you can stream the matches and compete in table tennis challenges during finals weekend on Sept. 6-7. The bar will serve Grey Goose Honey Deuce cocktails and hand out branded US Open cups to all guests.
