US Open Schedule

Whether you’re seeing the tennis stars practice on outside courts, dancing to the tunes at the US Open Block Party or just enjoying a day of great matches in Flushing Meadows, the US Open is a Grand Slam tournament like no other. It has a rich history of upsets and thrilling matches that can run late into the night. It was founded in 1881 as the national men’s singles and doubles championship, and became the U.S. Open in 1968. It was held in different cities and on a variety of surfaces until 1978, when it moved to Flushing Meadows in New York City’s Queens borough (the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center) and has been played there ever since.

This year’s US Open begins on a Sunday for the first time, bringing it in line with other Grand Slam tournaments that finish their action on Mondays (the Australian Open added the extra day last year; Wimbledon has done so since 2006).

The US Open will announce its full schedule on/around Thurs/Fri Aug 21-22. The daily schedule of play will be available on the official US Open website and app.

You can also sign up for a “Fan Pass,” which gets you access to certain perks (including preferred seating) at the practice sessions. You will be able to check in for this at the Fan Pass tent by the East Gate. Note that if you’re going to attend both day and evening sessions (Ashe or Armstrong) on the same day, you do not need to exit and re-enter the grounds — your ticket will be checked upon entering each stadium.
